Before I Fall (Part 1)

‘Do you want a drink? I’m going to have another. I’m struggling with this. It’s difficult and it’s taken up a lot of my time. There’s times where I’m sure my housemates forget I even exist. I try to get back to sleep, but never quite manage it. But look, this is ridiculous, I’m just stressed, that’s all.’

Before I Fall (Part 1) will introduce you to an ordinary group of people. They might be your friend, your sibling or your colleague. Listen to their stories, try to understand what they’re telling you and offer them help, if you can.

The production was first presented at The King Arms in Salford, November 18th 2014 to a warm audience reception, supported by Contact’s Future Fires programme and funded by Forever Manchester.

Before I Fall was the first production created from the Drama for Wellbeing programme. By sharing the personal stories of those afflicted, the performance presented challenging and thought-provoking portrayals of depression. Through a continually developing narrative, the production ran as a two-part series taking place in different social settings.
